About

Therapy rooted in respect, reflection, and responsive care.

Hi, I'm Lindsay Meyer (LMFT #118958), a licensed therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting older teens and adults. I offer in person therapy in Alameda and telehealth throughout California. People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, grieving a loss, navigating a difficult relationship, facing a major life transition, or simply sensing that life isn't feeling the way you hoped it would. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. One of the things I love most about therapy is helping people make sense of themselves. Many of my clients have spent years trying to understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do. They've reflected, read the books, listened to the podcasts, talked things through with people they trust, and still find themselves asking, Why do I keep ending up here? They're not necessarily looking for someone to give advice or tell them what to do. They're looking for someone who listens carefully, notices meaningful connections, and helps experiences begin to make sense in a new way. That's the kind of therapist I strive to be. ** HOW I APPROACH THERAPY ** I believe therapy is most helpful when it balances curiosity with meaningful change. As we begin to understand why certain patterns developed, new possibilities often emerge for responding differently, both in therapy and in everyday life. We'll slow things down enough to explore what may be happening beneath the surface. Together, we'll look at how past experiences, important relationships, emotions, and long standing ways of coping continue to influence the present. The goal isn't to dwell in the past. It's to help you move forward with greater self awareness, flexibility, and self compassion. As those pieces begin to come together, many people find they feel less stuck, trust themselves more, communicate more openly, build healthier boundaries, and feel more confident in themselves and their relationships. My work is informed by psychodynamic, attachment based, relational, trauma informed, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspectives. Rather than following a single approach, I tailor therapy to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals so our work reflects what will be most helpful for you. Above all, I want therapy to feel like a genuine relationship where you can bring your whole self into the room. Some conversations are deeply emotional. Others are practical or reflective. Sometimes we laugh. I believe all of those moments can be meaningful parts of the therapeutic process. ** WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE TO THERAPY ** People often reach out because they're experiencing: Anxiety, overthinking, and chronic worry Depression, low self-esteem, and feelings of isolation Grief, complicated loss, and caregiving Burnout, emotional exhaustion, and perfectionism Relationship challenges, communication struggles, and recurring patterns Life transitions, identity shifts, and uncertainty Stress related to work, family, and major life decisions A desire for deeper connection, greater fulfillment, and a stronger sense of self ** WHO I WORK WITH ** Adults Older teens (15+) Couples (limited availability) ** LOCATION ** In person therapy 2500 Central Ave. Suite 208, Alameda, CA Telehealth Available throughout California ** FEES ** Individual Therapy (60 minutes): $200 Couples Therapy (90 minutes): $300 Weekday appointments available. Whether you've been considering therapy for years or you're just beginning to explore it, you don't need to have everything figured out before we talk. I offer a free 15 minute consultation where we can discuss what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit. There's no pressure or obligation. Just an opportunity to connect and decide whether this feels like the right next step for you.
